ELRIM does research, educates, translates, publishes, discusses, inspires and encourages
Research
ELRIM supports studies regarding Islam, especially at the academic level. ELRIM provides guidance, facilities and useful contacts for studies especially in the Turkish context.
Each of ELRIM's centers has a useful theological reference library that provides support especially for studies concerning to Islam and Christianity.
Currently ELRIM is involved in a study regarding to the education of imams in the Turkish context.
Training
ELRIM supports Islam-related small-scale studies as well, that take place in Turkey and Germany, through the exchange studies, international training periods and study tours. Through its networks and co-operative partners ELRIM helps to create opportunities to study Christianity in the contexts of Finland, Turkey and Germany. One of our aims is to give to Turkish students opportunities to study issues related to Christianity also in the Finnish context.
ELRIM organizes lectures, seminars and work-shops in its own facilities, but also offers lectures for other events. Our current lecture tray is:

2. Basic doctrines and main denominations of Islam

5. Why did Islam conquer a major part of Christian world – and why does it not rule the world today?
6. Islam versus Christianity – a comparative study
The lectures can be held in Finnish, German, English and Turkish. Please reserve with ample time between the booking of a lecture and the delivery therefore. The compensation payments will be agreed depending on the case.
One very important aim for ELRIM in recent years has been in various ways to support the Christian theological education and training in the Turkish-speaking world.
Translations
ELRIM translates Lutheran literature into Turkish.
Publications
ELRIM itself is actively involved in publishing various materials, and also uses other publishers and publishing channels.
Discussions
The research personnel, religious specialists and teachers from ELRIM can be invited to join different kinds of discussions and debates related to Islam and Christianity.
Inspiration and encouragement
The aim of ELRIM is to encourage and inspire Christians to understand Islam and encourage Muslims to understand Christianity. If you have some new ideas of how we could serve to increase the afore-mentioned understanding, you have our attention.
